(b. ca. 1460, Forli, d. 1516, Forli)
Italian painter, also known as Baldassare Carrari the Younger. He was the son of Matteo, but a relative of the painter Baldassare Carrari the Elder (active c. 1354). He was active in both his native Forli and Ravenna from 1486 till his death.
Carrari was a pupil of the painter Niccolò Rondinelli. He is considered a distant follower of Melozzo da Forli, perhaps through contacts with Melozzo's pupil, Marco Palmezzano, but his style was also influenced by Lorenzo Costa and Niccolò Rondinelli.
