Santa Bibiana, Rome

In 1624 Bernini began his first purely architectural design. He had been hired to create a splendid new façade for the church of Santa Bibiana in Rome. It is clear, particularly from the windows of the upper floor, that the plans for the church were baaed on palace architecture.

The picture shows the façade of the church.
