The magnificent interior of the church has a two-story arrangement on the classical model, but uses the upper floor for galleries. The colonnade runs uninterrupted round the inside of the rotunda, thus stressing the regularity of the space. Only the main axis is stressed, by means of a canopy on the upper level borne on caryatids.
