This monument for Angelo Emo (died in 1792) was originally intended for the church of the Servi, where, as the inscription reminds us, it had been commissioned by Emo's niece and nephew Labia and Zenobio. To portray the dead man, Ferrari had recourse to the formula of the half-reclining figure resting on his elbow and caught in movement. The combination of the partially reclining pose and the oratorical gesture gives the statue of the admiral a vivid, natural quality.
