In this scene at top left on the east wall, the temple is presented as an elaborately designed chancel within a steeply proportioned three-aisle basilica, and templegoers have been introduced to enliven the narrative. Some are praying at the altar and making their sacrifices, and some are standing in front of the temple and commenting on the dismissal of Joachim with their gestures and gazes. The next scene showing the dream of Joachim interlocks spatially with the present one.
