Powerful giant half-columns on high pedestals, and a deeply overhanging entablature with its own corbelling lend a dynamic to the façade, which is deeply recessed behind this system of projections. The monumentality of Roman architecture is combined with Iberian surface decoration. The Clerecia courtyard is therefore completely independent of French and Italian court architecture of the Bourbon regime.
