The artist painted a series of landscapes representing the four seasons. The paintings show the influence of Pieter Bruegel the Elder in both the motifs applied, the composition and the staffage figures. In contrast with the earlier representations the seasons are indicated not by the activities of the figures but by the changes in the landscape.
