The architecture in the landscape garden at Stourhead have some similarity with the architecture in Claude Lorrain's painting Landscape with Aeneas at Delos, now in the National Gallery in London. Henry Hoare, who designed the landscaping at Stourhead, probably knew the painting and studied it for his purposes. | |
