Of Le Vau's private houses one of the most interesting is the Hôtel Tambonneau, begun in 1642. Here the openings are arched so that the effect is like logge to be found on many Roman churches of the early seventeenth century.

The building was demolished in 1642, it is known from the engraving by Jean Marot.
