The picture shows the first of the scenes representing events after the death of Christ painted by Pietro Lorenzetti in the south arm of the western transept of the Lower Church. It is located on the left side of the arch, above the Deposition.
Though this scene is less inventive than the earlier frescoes, the meeting between the hands of Christ and Adam is handled with great elegance.
