Jihlava Pietà

Bohemian workshops produced numerous examples of the Vesperbild (Pietà). The basic compositional scheme is formed by the seated Madonna and the diagonal marked by the rigid body of Christ. the same youthful Madonna with delicate features and elegant draperies that we find in the statues of the Schöne Madonna, such as the Krumau Virgin.
