Parrot Room

14th century
Mural
Museo di Palazzo Davanzati, Florence

The 14th-century dining room in the Palazzo Davanzati is painted with imitation tapestry. It is called the Parrot Room after the parrots in the frames around the lozenges. Above this are panels showing trees. The extremely small windows are characteristic of the time.
