The architects Pietro Passalacqua and DomenicoGregorini attempted in their plans for Santa Croce in Gerusalemme to combine the lightness of the so-called 'barocchetto romano', recently demonstrated in Santa Maria Maddalena, with the monumental language of San Giovanni in Laterano.
