River Landscape

c. 1640
Oil on panel, 64 x 89 cm
Private collection

The painting represents a river landscape with a ferryboat and fishing-boat with a man shooting ducks, a town beyond which had been traditionally identified as Gorinchem and the building as the Castle of Loevenstein, though neither of these identifications seem plausible.
