In 1624 Louis XIII had built in Versailles a small chateau, enlarged by Philibert Le Roy in 1631, consisting of a court surrounded by three wings, the inner façade of which still survive, though somewhat altered, in the existing Cour de Marbre. Silvestre's engraving shows the Cour de Marbre in 1676.
