For Wladisław Ślewiński, who lived and worked in Paris and Brittany from 1888 to 1905 and from 1910 on, the decisive was set by the spatial flatness and symbolic innuendos of Gauguin and the Nabis. His art, of course, was not without its Impressionist roots.
