On 18 February 1501, having returned to Milan, Cristoforo Solari was appointed "Magister a Figuris" of the cathedral, and subsequently executed or had executed various sculptures for the cathedral: attributes for the large roundels of the Doctors of the Church for the lantern, the figures of Adam and Eve (1504; Museo del Duomo), the Flagellation (inscribed CHRI. GOBI MLNO. OPUS) in the south sacristy, and Job (or Lazarus; Museo del Duomo), inscribed CHRI. GOB. on the pedestal, but perhaps not entirely autograph.
The picture shows three statues in the Museo del Duomo: St Helena with the cross, Job (or Lazarus), and Adam with the small Abel.
