Abbey churches in Castile-León contain a large number of tomb monuments influenced by the sarcophagus of Infante Felipe in Villalcázar de Sirga. Of varying quality, and stylistically far removed from the elegance of the Gothic formal canon practiced in the cathedral workshops, they are clearly products of local sculpture workshops. A example is the sarcophagus from Santa María de Palazuelos, now in the Valladolid cathedral Museum.
