The picture shows folio 122r. It contains an initial E depicting St Simon and St Jude on brown and green backgrounds, respectively.
St Simon the Apostle (also known as Simon the Zealot) was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus. His feast day is October 28, shared with St Jude. He travelled as a missionary preacher in Egypt and Persia (often alongside St Jude). Tradition states he was martyred by being sawed in half in Persia.
St Jude, known as Thaddaeus, was a brother of St James the Less, and a relative of Jesus. He was one of the Twelve Apostles. Legend claims that he visited Beirut and Edessa and could have been martyred with St Simon in Persia.
The folio contains an embroidered repair.
