On folio 150v, the narrative then turns to the Passion proper. The miniature depicting the Betrayal shows the kiss of Judas amid a crowd of seven soldiers, with Peter and Malchus to one side and Christ holding a scroll reading "MITTE GLADIUM TUUM IN VAGINAM" ("Put your sword back into its sheath"). Following a convention used throughout the Passion sequence, the soldiers and Malchus are given dark faces, and Judas is depicted with red hair, gripping a soldier's hand to guide him toward Christ.
