The picture shows folio 153r, which follows the sequence of full-page miniatures, and has an initial introducing the Canon of the Mass itself. It is a theologically dense composition built around the letter T: the shaft and crossbar of the T form the cross on which Christ hangs, while above, the half-length figure of God the Father, holding an orb, gives his blessing. To the left stands a crowned female figure personifying the Church, bearing a red cross, a banner, and a chalice; to the right stands a blindfolded figure personifying the Synagogue, holding a broken banner and an overturned vessel spilling its contents — a common medieval visual contrast between the triumphant New Covenant and the superseded Old.
From folio 153v, following the sequence of full-page miniatures, the manuscript contains only musical notation and text without initials until the end (folio 256v).
