This psalter was written and illuminated for Robert de Lindesey, abbot of the Benedictine abbey at Peterborough in England. The illustrations are distinguished by their refined elegance and noble design, eschewing the otherwise widespread use in England of proliferating flower imagery or grotesques.
The miniature on folio 36r shows Christ in Majesty.
