Psalter

This French codex was made for a patron from north-eastern France, between Burgundy and Champagne. It contains numerous ornamental initials as well as eight which are historiated at the beginnings of the sections into which the text is divided.

On folio 1, at the beginning of the Psalm Beatus vir, Christ is shown in Majesty in the upper part of the initial "B". In the lower part of the letter, David is playing the lyre, surrounded by other musical instruments.
