This manuscript contains one of the various prose versions of the story of Tristan and Isolde by the 12th-century author Lucas de Gail. The surviving decoration of the codex consists of twenty-seven pen drawings set in the lower margins of the pages. They were executed by a French artist who only partially coloured the background and figures, the faces of which are characterised by a single touch of red on the cheeks.
The detail of folio 48v shows the duel between Tristan and Palamedes. They are watched by Isolde, who looks out from a window of a building.
