Gossouin de Metz (also spelt Gauthier) was a French priest and poet. He is primarily known for writing in 1245 the encyclopedic poem L'Image du Monde (The Image of the World or Imago Mundi). It is an encyclopedic work about creation, the Earth and the universe, wherein facts are mixed with fantasy. The work was partly illustrated.
On folio 42v of this codex an illustration of the spherical Earth can be seen.
