This manuscript in two volumes contains 27 books of Pliny's works. At the beginning of the Prologue in volume one (folio 3r), the miniature shows Pliny on the left handing over a scroll with the dedication of his work to Emperor Titus. The small figure of the miniaturist sits on the tree separating the author and the emperor.He holds a scroll with the inscription 'Petrus de Slagosia me fecit"; this is therefore the self-portrait and signature of the illuminator.
