This handsome medical textbook, made for a wealthy client in Paris about 1280, comprises works by Hippocrates and Galen in the Latin translation of Constantinus Africanus, a Tunisian doctor of the eleventh century. The miniature on folio 100v shows a doctor and his student discussing a patient.
