The miniature on folio 8v depicts the zodiac sign of Sagittarius (archer) at the centre of an intricate dual-ring diagram illustrating Moirogenesis.

The outer ring of the diagram contains images representing every single degree of a given zodiac sign; the inner ring includes a brief description of the fate of anyone born in that degree of the sign.

In the outer ring of the Sagittarius miniature, the images mostly depict figures representing various activities and a few animals.
