The picture shows folio 28v, which contains two-column text and a large circular miniature above it. In the centre of the miniature is a seated winged figure, the personification of the planetary deity Mars.
This miniature is one of the few large illustrations interrupting the otherwise regular sequence of the text. These function almost as a visual frontispiece for major textual divisions.
