Manuscript (Reg.lat.1283.pt.A), parchment
Biblioteca Apostolica Vaticana

The picture shows folio 32v containing two-column text and in-text circular miniatures in both columns. These images are part of a series depicting sacrifices to Mercury as he stands in each zodiacal sign.

The image in the left column depicts a magus calling upon Mercury before sacrificing a goat to him. The deity's personification appears with a winged horse. Mercury is represented riding a peacock above the sign of Aries within a small attached circle.

The image in the right column depicts the kneeling magus sacrificing the goat. Mercury is represented within the small attached circle above the sign of Virgo.

The small circles represent the connection between a Planet and a Zodiac.
