The manuscript is composed of two formerly independent volumes: Psalter and Hours, known as the 'Howard Psalter' (folios 1r-116v), and A calendar and the Speculum theologiae (117r-135v).
The full-page miniature on folio 5v depicts the cherub of virtue: each of its six wings represents a virtue, and each feather an aspect of virtue.
