This manuscript belongs to a double series of seventeen choir books, which were kept in the Cathedral of Verona until 1902. Eleven choir books are datable to the 1370s and 1380s, the remaining six, which are larger in size and decorated with greater care was the result of a second commission towards the end of the century.
The page (folio 40) illustrated here belongs to one of the choir books of the second series.
