This manuscript contains the architectural treatise Trattato d'architettura (1460-1464) by Filarete (known also as Averulino).
The decoration of this page (folio 8) from a codex is a characteristic example of the Italian Renaissance miniature art at its peak; it represents the Lombard-Venetian style. All elements used for decoration can be found on this page: pearls, sphinx, fishes, putti, nude figures etc. At the top and the bottom the coat-of-arms of King Matthias are depicted. The scene at the bottom representing the construction of a building is remarkable.
