This manuscript contains noted chants for the liturgy of Vespers. It was executed in Verona towards the end of the fifteenth century, and it belonged to the Maffei family. Some of the chants are attributed to Franco-Flemish masters, but many are anonymous. The miniatures were executed by various artists, possibly by some pupils of the school of clergy in Verona. The scene with figures on folio 109, shown here represents the myth of Jason killing the dragon, guardian of the Golden Fleece.
