The manuscript contains the prophecies of Telesforo da Cosenza (second half of the 14th century). Its complete title is "Liber de causis, statu, cognizione ac fine presentis scismatis et tribulationum futurarum". It was commissioned by Leonello d'Este in c. 1445 and it had been copied by 1447. However, the series of watercolour illustration which complete the codex was executed at a later date.
The scene on folio 39v depicts a regal procession: three mounted sovereigns in the centre are preceded and followed by horsemen in armour.
