The small church façade on the cover of the plenary of Duke Otto (a piece of outstanding quality from the church of St Blaise in the Black Forest) was designed after drawings, either individual architectural sketches or from small sketchbooks like that of the French artist Villard de Honnecourt, which were used by goldsmiths and architects alike. Below are the Virgin and Child, on the left the Blessed Reginbert, founder of the monastery in the Black Forest, and on the other side Abbot Arnold II. Above is the Coronation of the Virgin between St Nicolas and St Blaise.
