Aside from the Last Judgment, the pictorial program consists mainly of the biblical stories long traditional in Rome. The northeast section contains the following, from the top to the bottom: archangels; the Creation (the Fall, the accounting to God, expulsion from paradise); the story of Joseph (Joseph being sold, Jacob and Rachel receiving false news of Joseph's death, Joseph taken to Egypt); the life of Christ (Adoration, dream, and return of the three kings); the story of John (the Baptist's sermon, baptism of the woman convert, proclamation of the Messiah).
