The frescoes in the refectory of the former Benedictine abbey in Lavaudieu (Haut-Loire) belong to a group of mural paintings showing some Byzantine characteristic. These frescoes have a dark background.
The picture shows the fresco depicting Christ in Majesty with symbols of the Evangelists, including Mary on the throne with angels and Apostles.
