Santa María de Melque, a Mozarabic-Visigothic church was constructed in the first half of 8th century, probably as a maousoleum, and later redesigned as a church. The plan is cruciform, with a central apse, the two lateral apses were added later. Inside it has very pronounced horseshoe arches.
