Constance (Konstanz in German) is situated on Lake Constance (Bodensee in German). Documents show that the origin of the Cathedral (Münster Unserer Lieben Frau) can be dated to the mid 8th century. The church collapsed in 1052. The reconstruction took place in the 11th century and the Cathedral underwent several additions and modifications in the Gothic period.
