Supported by bold retaining walls, the mountain monastery is situated on a picturesque location below the 2.800 meters high summit of the Canigou in the eastern Pyrenees. The church building has two storeys. The lower church has barrel-vaulting in the nave and aisles, and a groin-vaulted choir. The upper church also has a nave and two aisles, all barrel-vaulted. The space is terminated in the east by three semi-circular apses, the central one of which is wider because of the broader central nave.
The photo shows the nave of the lower church.
