The Abbey of Romainmôtier was built between 990 and 1040, in the area of Burgundy now in Switzerland, according to the plans of the church of Cluny, and on the ruins of a monastery dating back to the 5th and 7th century. The church is one of the oldest Romanesque buildings in Switzerland.
