The Romanesque cathedral of Troyes was destroyed by fire in 1188. Construction of the present Gothic cathedral was begun in 1208. The choir had to be renewed after a storm in 1228 severely damaged the church. The upper part of the choir was built in the style of Saint-Denis.
The photo shows the choir begun c. 1208 with the clerestory renewed after the collapse of 1228.
