Interior view

The Franciscan church in Bologna does not follow the Franciscan tradition established in Assisi. Behind the protruding screen-type west front lies a nave-and-aisle structure with an ambulatory in the best Cistercian manner. Following the tradition of the region of Emilia Romagna, the building is constructed of brick.
