The date when the building of Lorenzkirche (St. Lawrence Church) started is not known. The central section of the west façade, with its portal, rose window, and gable were built between 1353 and 1362. The outstanding feature of this façade is the two powerful but plain towers flanking the elaborate central section.
The photo shows the west front. The towers were completed in 1383.
