The portal area on the west front of Lyon Cathedral, with the blind triforium running above it, was constructed between 1308 and 1332, but the tier with the rose window was completed only in the 1390s, and the towers were never complected. Nevertheless, the whole façade is executed according to a unified concept. Both in their architecture and in their sculpture, the portals follow the model of the transept façades at Rouen Cathedral.
