Notre-Dame, Huy

Huy's Collégiale de Notre-Dame (Our Lady's Collegiate Church) was built between 1311 and 1536 in the mid and late Gothic styles. It is a huge Rayonnant building characterized by an imposing tower adorned with a 9m diameter rose window. Rare in Belgium, the choir is flanked by two square towers. The church houses a rich collection of Mosan goldsmiths, including four magnificent 12th-century and 13th-century reliquaries, some of which are attributed to Godefroy de Huy. The portal of Bethlehem (14 century) has a tympanum with the Nativity and, above, the Massacre of the Innocents.

The photo shows the interior of the church.
