Cathedral, Bristol

In Bristol the Augustinian monks of the cathedral built one of the most original buildings of Late Gothic in Europe. They started the restoration with the choir, completed in 1332. This is a hall church, unusual for England, a new and unique interpretation of this form. The wide nave opens into the narrow side aisles through tall, wide arches.

The photo shows the nave looking east.
