Jesuit church, Lucerne

Three architects are recorded as having worked on the jesuit church in Lucerne, including one "from Bregenz," which probably refers to Michael Kuen of Vorarlberg. The building, constructed between 1666 and 1669, certainly represents a version of the Vorarlberg pier system. However, the church, like the Jesuit church in Solothurn, is derived from the Jesuit church of St, Michael in Munich, especially the hall church design, the arrangement of the galleries, and the very basic transept.

The photo shows the interior of the church.
