Biography

Maria Slavona (pseudonym of Maria Schorer), German Impressionist painter. She attended the women's art schools of Munich and Berlin. She was a student of Käthe Kollwitz (1867-1945).

From 1890 she stayed in Paris and Barbizon several times and she was strongly influenced by contemporary French painting. From 1906 she lived with her family in Lübeck, then from 1909 she was active in Berlin. She joined the Berlin Secession in 1913.

She married Otto Ackermann (1871-1963), an art dealer of Paris and Berlin.
